So, I'm sure you're waiting for a new post...well...you'll have to wait a little longer. It's a busy time for Team Thompson! I hope the new background holds you over for a while :)

:(

Some have asked about Justin's root canal...well...he had it, but it's not over. The endodontist, root canal doctor, said this was the worst she's seen :( All 4 of his roots are busted and one was so bad that it had exploded!

His procedure on Thursday was 2 hours and they're meeting back up on Monday to finish it. The doctor has been great to call and check on Justin as she knows he is in quite a bit of pain, and offered to make a call to the pharmacy if/when he needs more medication, be it day or night. Nice, huh? :) We think so!

Postponed

Mom's surgery has been postponed because she has a bit of a cold. She went in this morning, got ready and was meeting with the anesthesiologist, but he called it off to be on the safe side. A new appointment is still TBD...now to figure out my trip details. We're leaning towards just going anyway because there is no option of canceling or rescheduling because it'll cost just as much as buying another ticket!

We shall see...stay tuned!

......UPDATE.....
If momma is feeling better and over her sniffles on Tuesday, that's when she'll go in for surgery. Good thing I didn't change my flight!

Scheduled

Mom's surgery is scheduled for this Friday morning. Thanks to everyone for your encouraging words and support. We'll keep ya posted!

I'm flying home for a week starting Sunday and am able to work from home, which is a blessing as I don't have vacation time!

Also, Justin's root canal is tomorrow morning. Lots going on :)

Team Thompson against pesky arteries

Team Thompson is again making a call to all readers to keep my momma and family in your prayers as she prepares to undergo open heart surgery. My mom, Ginger, found out last week post a stress test and heart probe that she has some pesky arteries that need replacing.

Now, if you recall, Team Thompson stands firm against pesky body parts, such as gall bladders, collar bones, kidneys and adenoids. You can read more about our stance and the list of parts we are against in this previous post.

All light-“hearted” humor aside, this is a serious surgery and we ask for you to keep Ging in your prayers, asking for her to feel at peace with the situation and for a speedy and comfortable recovery. We also ask that you keep our family in mind as we prepare for mom’s surgery and recovery. We’re all doing ok now, but of course we’re a little nervous. Overall, we’re extremely thankful that these issues were discovered early on and that there is a solution to the problem.

I will at some point be making a trip to Grandview. We find out later today when the surgery will be so we’ll keep everyone posted.

.....UPDATE....

Team Thompson has another new enemy…roots. Tooth roots, to be exact.

Justin, after trooping through a weekend of near-crippling pain, has been informed he needs a root canal. His appointment is schedule for Thursday morning. We’re happy we were able to find a dentist Justin was able to see today and that they were able to identify the source of his pain. Keep ol’ JT in your prayers this week, too!
